RE: leashwalkinz
Mar 29 2008, 11:06 PM EDT Ohai, Chikkin!! Um... It ar halpfoal if kiti finks is goggeh. Dunno wy KB finks hims goggeh, but him do. Um, him took to leesh like fizhy to wottur. is weerd. howavar.... sum fings yu shud kno.... furst, yu nont walk kiti, kiti walk yu. I'd advise starting with a harness and not taking it off the kitty. They're kind of a beast to get on anyway... most harnesses don't fit kitnz so you might have to wait a little if you're getting a kitn. Kiti usually pitch fit, rolls around and such. Just let kiti get used to the harness first. Next, you put on leash and go outside with the kitty, let him snif around and lead you. Use treats, and use specific language when you're talking about going for a walk. (KB wears his harness mostly always, so to call him close to attach the leash, I call "Kaybee? Kibbles? Go walkies? whar mai KBtron?" Usually by the time I turn around he's right there. Then I'll attach the leash and say, "Go ousside? walkies? ousside?" He's started to learn when I say "front door" or "back door" too. He'll go to the door with me and wait for me to open it. Then in perfect cat mode, he'll stop halfway in and out of the door. Right. When we're going in, I'll ask, "Kibbee, go ihsside?") Be patient and gentle and give lots of love as reward. *shrugs* That's all I can suggest.... but KB really thinks he's a dog. Actually, he's the most feline dog I've ever met. Do you find this valuable? |
